BIO — Ven Diagram & Mission

“I want to re-imagine and re-store spaces & tools for community health & autonomy. This means aiding and constructing social infrastructure, housing, cultural expression in ways that empower positive change, equitable futures, and young voices.”

Artistic Practice

I’ve used art to appreciate and process my environment for as long as I can remember…

  • My curiosity has lead me to try many mediums to learn new approaches but am strongest in drawing and paint. The connections that form my visual languages are my rural childhood, chronic back pain, urban and digital immersion, navigating masculinity, mutual assumptions about public spaces, creative recycling, and questions about “safe” spaces in the face of financialization. My commercial work focuses on celebration and honoring relationships while my experiments look to capture personal tensions in material and mark making.

Creative Technology

Where technology and expression meet is how I see my flexibility and work experience helping the creative ideas of the community…

  • I find there are endless applications of construction and 3d modeling technology for Art, expression, festivals, installation space making, and cultural appreciation. There are ever increasing demands upon our creative and communal needs in a housing crisis. I want the efficiency and possibilities of these technologies to help us produce thoughtful and humanizing projects by individuals and groups. My collaborative skills, program and construction training aid aspects like proposals, construction planning, budgeting and creative answers to public and personal problems. Collecting my own and others answers to resisting communal corrosion in marginalized environments is my pride and joy.

Architectural Technology

Motivated by not-for-profit experience and housing crisis for present and future generations…

  • Description text g I took on this discipline to empower myself, architects, and communities with the technology & building science required. Trained as an Architectural Draft person I understand and practiced how to communicate with sub trades, city legislation, permit offices, and incorporate specialties within building science conventions. I use most of the conventional programs for drawings and modeling that utilize vector graphics, Building Information Modeling, rendering and large scale information organization and scheduling. I am personally inspired when collecting sustainable techniques from new and old technologies or the beauty of a home built for the individuals in mind.
